Tooth Bites Back With "Age of Innocence"

Tooth, formerly known as The Aftercare, just dropped their debut single, “The Age of Innocence,” and it is biblical. The track nods to their predecessors while delivering something both familiar and entirely new, channeling the scrappy energy of the garage rock revival. The single is a chaotic (in all the right ways) debut that feels ripped straight out of the ’90s. Lead singer Tom Pollock’s petulant voice grabs you from the first lyric, “The pavement cracked under my feet as my thoughts were caught in a daydream—stuck in a dream,” and never lets go.
After months of anticipation, fans of the four-piece finally see their return, and Tooth makes it worth the wait. The band takes the strongest elements of their previous work and builds onto them, creating a sound that feels more refined, focused, and self-assured.
The standout moment of the single arrives in the latter half of the track, where it fully unravels into a messy yet explosive finale. With Pollock snarling his way through the verse over Roy Lowe’s pummeling drums, it lands as a visceral payoff.
From the first listen, it’s nearly impossible to turn the track off, and it’s clear the band is destined to be monstrous.
